The Finance Department is led by the Finance Director/Village Treasurer, Paul Mehring, and is comprised of financial management, accounting, and customer service. The Department is responsible for the financial operation of the Village such as the annual budget and audit, financial planning and reporting.
The Department encompasses activities such as cash management and investing, debt administration, accounting, cashiering, water billing, payroll, vehicle stickers, accounts payable, commuter parking, and tax administration.
The Village Treasurer is appointed by the Mayor. The Treasurer is the statutory custodian of all Village funds, and, as such, functions as Treasurer to both the Police and Firefighter Pension Boards. In support of the Treasurer, the Department is responsible for all financial transactions required of the pension funds.
