Retired Police K9 "Crow"

In 2001, the Palatine Village Council approved the creation of Palatine’s first K9 Unit. Veteran Officer Pat Johnson was selected and paired up with "Crow," a German Shepherd. Officer Johnson trained with Crow at Tops Kennels in Grayslake Illinois and was certified through the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA). During his tour of duty, Crow assisted in the tracking and apprehension of suspects, missing persons, building and vehicle searches. Crows efforts resulted in numerous arrests and drug seizures.

Crow served from 2002 through 2008 and retired from active police service in the fall of 2008.
