Oktoberfest Celebration

September 20 - 22


The Oktoberfest celebration is held in downtown Palatine at the corner of Smith and Slade Streets. Free admission, authentic German music and good and activities for all ages!  
Raffles will be held to support local charities and community projects.

Twin Lakes 2nd Annual Youth Obstacle Course Race

Saturday, September 21, 9:30 a.m.


Join us for our 2nd annual Youth Obstacle Course Race at Twin Lakes. The race is 1.25 miles long (2K) and will take adventurous youth between the ages of 6-14 years old on a fun run through the perimeter of Twin Lakes. Participants will encounter 17 man-made and natural obstacles that will challenge their physical ability and determination. All participants will receive a goodie bag, and bragging rights. Awards will be given for the overall male & female winners and medals for top 3 in each age category. The race will run rain or shine!  *6 year old's must be accompanied by at least one registered adult over 18 years old. Fee: $30/person day of race(cash only) or register online at www.saltcreekpd.com

Palatine Kiwanis Peanut Days


Kiwanis members and supporting groups will be on Village streets and at various retail stores on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28.  Palatine Kiwanis will be collecting donations to support service projects and to make monetary donations to youth and civic groups in the area.  The primary focus of the Palatine Kiwanis is to serve children, seniors, veterans, the needy and the disabled.  As a ‘Thank You’ for donations, a small bag of their famous Kiwanis Peanuts will be offered. 

Palatine Fire Department Open House

The Palatine Fire Department will be hosting their annual open house on Saturday, October 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Station 84 (220 W. Illinois Avenue). Families are invited to tour the Station and get up close with the equipment. There will be a variety of fun and exciting activities for kids too. This is a great opportunity to meet your local firefighters, witness live educational demonstrations, and learn more about the services the Fire Department, and other groups/services, provide the Palatine community.
