First Bank Drive Lane Closure


LANE CLOSURE ALERT:  The north-bound/east-bound lane of First Bank Drive from Northwest Highway to Hicks Road has been closed to all vehicular traffic since Wednesday, June 12, as part of the First Bank Drive Rehabilitation Project. The lane will be closed for approximately one week, depending on weather. A detour route has been posted to direct traffic to use Northwest Highway and Hicks Road. Access to businesses will be maintained during this time.

GreekFest 2019, Celebrating 45 years

St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, in Palatine, will present it's annual GreekFest on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 21-23.

This fest has been a celebration of Greek hospitality and culture for 45 years in Palatine. Every summer GreekFest attracts over 15,000 guests to experience the wonderful sights, sounds and smells of Greek cultures.

Guests will enjoy authentic Greek food and pastries including Souvlakia, Gyros, Pastichio, Grecian Chicken, Loukoumades and more while The Taverna will be serving beer, wine and other beverages.

Enjoy live entertainment, Greek dancing, games for kids and shopping at the Greek Marketplace.

GreekFest hours are: Friday, 4 p.m. -11 p.m.; Saturday, 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.; and Sunday, Noon - 10 p.m. The church is at 133 S. Roselle Road, at the corner of Palatine and Roselle Roads. The picnic will be held rain or shine.

A convenient drive thru will be accessible off of Roselle Road. Drive thru hours are: Friday, 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, Noon -  9:00 p.m.

Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest

The 63rd annual Palatine Jaycees' Hometown Fest will be held Wednesday, July 3 through Sunday, July 7 in Community Park, 262 E. Palatine Road.  Don't miss carnival rides, live entertainment, food vendors, business expo, and craft fair.  Proceeds from Hometown Fest benefit Palatine by funding community projects, community grants, high school scholarships, and more.

Friday, July 5, noon to midnight
Fireworks at dusk
Saturday, July 6, noon to 10:00 p.m.

Budweiser Clydesdales Coming to Rolling Meadows July 4th Parade

The City’s 2019 Independence Day Parade, July 4th, at 11:30 a.m., is featuring the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The parade will step off from Rolling Meadows High School. Participants will head west on Central Road to Owl Drive, proceed north on Owl to Kirchoff Road, and turn east on Kirchoff before ending at the Rolling Meadows Shopping Center.

The Clydesdales will also be appearing in Palatine on July 5th:



Vehicle Stickers and Animal Licenses

Vehicle stickers and animal licenses are now available for purchase.

Residents are encouraged to purchase both their 2019/2020 Vehicle Stickers and Animal Licenses by Sunday, June 30. 

You may
purchase online by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, or in person at the Finance counter, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at Palatine Village Hall, 200 E. Wood Street, Palatine, IL 60067 until Friday, June 28.

To avoid penalties and citations, vehicle stickers must be purchased and affixed to vehicles by June 30. Late fees will be charged beginning July 1.


Kids Life Jacket Loaner Program

These Life Jackets are U.S. Coast Guard Approved, jacket type units. Available in four sizes, to fit children from 5 lbs. to 90 lbs. for short-term loan at no cost.

The Palatine Fire Department currently has a limited supply of life jackets in four different sizes (Infant, Child, Youth and Young Adult).

• Station 82 - 1475 N. Hicks Road,
• Station 83 – 987 E. Palatine Road,
• Station 84 – 220 W. Illinois Avenue
• Station 85 – 39 E. Colfax Street.

All loans require some basic information including a copy of your Driver’s License and the number of days you intend to use the life jacket. When possible, please bring the child with so a firefighter can properly size them with the appropriate life jacket.
