Construction Alert


First Bank Drive from Northwest Highway to Hicks Road will be reconstructed this year. Work began on May 21, 2019 and will be substantially completed by the end of July. This project includes curb and gutter removal and replacement, drainage structure repairs/adjustments, upgrades to sidewalk ramps, and removal and replacement of the roadway surface and base course.
 
The pavement removal and replacement phase will be performed one side of the road at a time. Temporary lane closures are expected during that time and through traffic will be prohibited. Access to businesses will be maintained.

Vehicle Stickers and Animal Licenses


Vehicle stickers and animal licenses are now available for purchase.

Residents are encouraged to purchase both their 2019/2020 Vehicle Stickers and Animal Licenses by Sunday, June 30. 

You may
purchase online by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, or in person at the Finance counter, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at Palatine Village Hall, 200 E. Wood Street, Palatine, IL 60067 until Friday, June 28.

To avoid penalties and citations, vehicle stickers must be purchased and affixed to vehicles by June 30. Late fees will be charged beginning July 1.

Kids Life Jacket Loaner Program


These Life Jackets are U.S. Coast Guard Approved, jacket type units. Available in four sizes, to fit children from 5 lbs. to 90 lbs. for short-term loan at no cost.

The Palatine Fire Department currently has a limited supply of life jackets in four different sizes (Infant, Child, Youth and Young Adult).

To check out life jackets, call the Palatine Fire Department at 847-202-6340 or stop by any of our four fire stations including;

• Station 82 - 1475 N. Hicks Road,
• Station 83 – 987 E. Palatine Road,
• Station 84 – 220 W. Illinois Avenue
• Station 85 – 39 E. Colfax Street.

All loans require some basic information including a copy of your Driver’s License and the number of days you intend to use the life jacket. When possible, please bring the child with so a firefighter can properly size them with the appropriate life jacket.

The Power of Dance, May 31, at Harper College Performing Arts Center


Explore the strength, energy, and vulnerability of the forces of life: from love to loss, empowerment, joy, and dance! Palatine Park District’s Palatine Dance presents The Power of Dance, Friday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 1 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Harper College Performing Arts, 1200 W Algonquin Road, Palatine.

Palatine Library Summer Reading Kick-off Party Adventures


Celebrate Palatine Library’s Summer Reading Program (It's Showtime at Palatine Library) with an exciting selection of games and activities, including BINGO, and face painting. Stop by the craft station where you can make your own hand puppet to test out at our puppet stage. This event is all ages on Saturday, June 1, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Kick off the start of summer by meeting some cool and interesting exotic animals. Bike Scavenger Hunt


Participants get a chance to explore Palatine like never before on this AMAZING family-friendly event.  Meet on Saturday, June 1 at 9 a.m. at the Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Ct.  A great way to get outdoors for some exercise while solving clues along the way with your teammates! Play some games at the destinations and learn a little about your hometown. Participants ride at their own pace in groups of 2-6 people. Each team uses their smart phones to take photos of their team at each locale, do some quick googling to solve some of the clues, or as a lifeline to phone-a-friend for more clue support. Bonus points are earned for Most Comical, Most Artistic, Most Clever, etc. and winners will take home some cool prizes too. Additional bike parking is available in the library's west parking lot.   For more information, please click here

30th Annual Twin Lakes Triathlon


Register now for the 30th Annual Twin Lakes Triathlon. The race is at 6:30am on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Twin Lakes Recreation Area, 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive in Palatine.   Participants will do a 700-meter swim in open water in Donut Lake, 14-mile bike along the streets of Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Inverness, and a 4.5-mile run.  For more information, please contact Kelly Sisco at (847) 259-6890 or email ksisco@saltcreekpd.com
