Village of Palatine

Special Brush Pickup

On Monday, November 26, 2018, a severe snow storm caused extensive damage to trees throughout the Village. Beginning on Monday, December 3, 2018, the Village's Public Works Department will conduct a special brush collection to pick up storm-related trees, limbs, and brush from single-family residences. All trees, limbs, and brush must be set out at the curb no later than 7:00 AM on Monday, December 3rd.
Brush must adhere to the following guidelines to be collected:

  • Firewood, tree stumps and root balls will not be accepted due to the potential damage to the chipper.
  • Cut ends of limbs must face the street, with branches as long as possible.
  • Please locate brush in such a manner as to not block any adjacent sidewalk or street.

Crews will pass down each street just once. If amounts of brush are excessive, the collection may take the entire week or more to finish. The collection may also be delayed due to weather.
The Village will monitor the weather forecast and announce any changes, or if the collection week will be rescheduled on our website, by e-mail in our E-Newsletter, and on our Facebook page. If you have any questions regarding this special collection, please contact the Public Works Department at (847) 705-5200.
