Annual Leaf Collection Program

Leaf Collection

The Public Works Department began its annual Curbside Leaf Collection Program on Monday, October 15, 2018. Each single-family residence has two scheduled pickups. A final pickup for all zones will begin on Monday, November 12, 2018. Please click here to look up your scheduled collection days. All raked leaves must be placed into the street and ready for pickup no later than 7:00 a.m. on scheduled days, but no earlier than 4:00 p.m. on the day prior to collection.

Holiday Tree

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony


Join us in Towne Square for the Village of Palatine's Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  This event features Santa and the Mayor of Palatine!  Enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, festive music, and take pictures with Santa.

 To comply with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Cross-Connection Control requirements, the Village of Palatine is requiring all water customers to complete the survey found here

Business Expo and Community Showcase

Business Expo

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Business Expo and Community Showcase from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Falcon Park Recreation Center,

2195 N. Hicks Road in Palatine.


At this free community event, attendees will enjoy all-day entertainment, raffles and giveaways with more than 50 local businesses and organizations showcasing their wares and services, in addition to entertainment and interactive demonstrations that are scheduled throughout the day. Family-friendly activities will include a kid’s entertainment area with face painting, balloon animals, crafts and local mascots, along with storytelling, a magic show, K-9 demonstration, musical performances and more.

Winter Clothing Drive


The Palatine Police Department is collecting new and gently used coats and winter clothing for all ages. Drop off is the in the Palatine Police Department Lobby, 595 N. Hicks Road.

You may drop off clothing in the large collection box in our front lobby anytime now through Friday, November 30 at noon.

The clothing will benefit the P.A.T.H. Program here in Palatine.  Thank you for your generosity!

Holiday Used Book Sale


Friends of Palatine Library will hold a Holiday Used Book Sale Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18. Choose from like-new, donated items including books for a wide-array of genres, CDs, and DVDs suitable for gift giving. Antique books prior to 1950, comic books, graphic art, and more for sale at reasonable prices! Come early to check out the great selection and discount pricing that the sale offers. Free Admission.

Saturday, November 17, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 18, 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m


All items are half price! All proceeds from the sale benefit Palatine Public Library District. The Friends group funds the Summer and Winter Reading Programs, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program, and other projects which have included furniture, new collections, and more. Holidays on the Town Takes Place Friday, November 16

Holidays on the Town

The holiday season is fast approaching, and the Downtown Palatine Business Association is helping area residents kick it off with the very popular, Holidays on the Town event on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in downtown Palatine!


The DPBA Holiday Trolley will whisk attendees around to the 24 participating businesses- quaint shops, storefronts and restaurants - in Palatine's historic downtown. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine tastings will be offered at select locations, in addition to raffles, product and service demonstrations, special giveaways and other seasonal offers.


A Holidays on the Town Passport is required to participate in the event, and to ride on the Holiday Trolley. Passports are available for pre-purchase at any of the participating locations, and on the night of the event for $5. For more information, visit Downtown Palatine Business Association.
