Welcome to the Village of PalatinE-Newsletter

The Village of Palatine wishes to share community news, events and information
important to the residents it serves.
The Village of Palatine will release a weekly
PalatinE-Newsletter keeping our subscribers informed of the happenings within the Village of Palatine.

Patriot Day Remembrance

Please join the Palatine Fire and Police Departments on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 as we host a memorial ceremony to honor the sacrifices of those that lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The ceremony will be held at the Palatine Firefighters Memorial at the corner of N. Brockway and W. Slade Streets. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. and will last for approximately one hour.

Construction Alert:

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be replacing a culvert under Northwest Highway just east of Smith Street in front of Eurofresh Market. The replacement will span the full width of the road from curb to curb. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 17, 2018, depending on weather.

A new storm sewer junction chamber will also be installed on the north side of Northwest Highway in front of Little Sisters of the Poor.

Daily lane closures are expected, starting as early as 7:00 a.m., and traffic will be reduced to one lane in one direction at times. Overnight closures are not anticipated. Pavement patching will occur on a section-by-section basis to prevent traffic from driving on gravel.

For more information regarding this project, please contact IDOT District 1 at (847) 705-4000.

Explore Palatine

Palatine Collage

Explore Palatine is tomorrow, Saturday, September 8th! Area residents are encouraged to visit and shop at Palatine-based businesses and organizations tomorrow - and whenever possible - in an effort to keep sales tax dollars in our Village.

Did you know? Approximately $48 of a $100 purchase stays in Palatine when an individual shops at an independent local store, while $14 stays in Palatine when they are patronizing larger, regional businesses (located in Palatine) – but just $1 stays in Palatine when people shop online! Please visit Explore Palatine to view specials and other offers from participating Palatine businesses and organizations! You can also look for yellow balloons outside of locations participating in Explore Palatine! This event is being spearheaded by the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce with a goal to strengthen the entire Palatine community.
