Early Voting Information

2018 Primary Election
March 20, 2018



Early Voting for the upcoming Primary Election has begun and will run now through March 19 including weekends at Village Hall, 200 E. Wood Street, 1st Floor, Community Room A, during the following hours:

WEEKDAYS:  9 AM – 5 PM   (March 12 – 16: Open to 7 PM)
SATURDAYS: 9 AM – 5 PM
SUNDAYS:   10 AM – 4 PM


Non-registered voters can register to vote and cast their ballot at all early voting sites. Two forms of identification must be presented with one ID showing the voter’s current address. 

Voter Registration:  

Grace-Period Voter Registration and Voting runs from February 21 through March 19 at Suburban Cook County Courthouses.  Voters will register to vote and then cast their ballot.

On Election Day, March 20, 2018, polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at designated polling places. Non-registered voters can register to vote at their home precinct (polling place).  Two forms of identification must be presented with one ID showing the voter’s current address.


The Palatine Village Clerk’s office will resume voter registration during our regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 22.

Political Sign Regulations

Reminder Regarding Village's Political Sign Regulations


The March 20, 2018 Primary Election is just around the corner, and as a reminder for campaign staff and volunteers, the Village of Palatine has political sign regulations in effect.

  • Signs posted within public right-of-way are permitted up to three days (72 hours) prior to Election Day and shall be removed within 24 hours after the election.
  • Signs may be installed no earlier than Saturday, March 17 and must be removed by Wednesday, March 21.
  • Signs posted on private property are permitted no more than 30 days prior to Election Day and shall be removed within 48 hours after the Election. 
  • Restrictions do not apply to signs on private residential property. Permission of the property owner should be obtained prior to placing any signs on private property.
  • All political signs shall not exceed 8 square feet in area and be limited to a maximum height of 4 feet.
  • Signs shall provide a minimum setback from any curb, shoulder or sidewalk.

The Village will remove any signs that do not comply with regulations or that create safety issues for pedestrians and motorists. Please click here for more information on political sign regulations with the Village of Palatine. 


District 2 Advisory Meeting

District 2 Resident's Meeting

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.


On Wednesday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m., Councilman Scott Lamerand will hold his District 2 Resident's Meeting to discuss Village of Palatine updates along with a presentation by the Palatine Police Department focused on School Safety.

This meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at Village Hall located at 200 E. Wood Street, Palatine. Anyone interested in participating may attend this meeting.


Yard Waste Collection


Curbside Yard Waste Collection Begins the Week of April 2


  • Bags shall not exceed 60 pounds.
  • Branches or limbs must be 4 inches in diameter or less, weigh less than 60 pounds, and secured with biodegradable cotton twine or rope.
  • Bundles of yard waste shall not exceed 4 feet in length, or 2 feet in diameter.
