This program is only available to single-family residences within Village limits. The cost is $15 per cubic yard, with a 3 cubic yard minimum order size and a maximum of 10 cubic yards. Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis and fill quickly. Please call Public Works at (847) 705-5200 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting on March 1 to schedule an appointment.

For smaller amounts of mulch, residents may visit the mulch bins at the Village’s holding site at 550 N. Smith Street near the Smith Tank water tower. Please bring your own shovel and containers. There is no charge to pick up your own mulch.

For more information, visit our website or call Public Works at (847) 705-5200.

Coyote Sightings

woof
The Palatine Police Department continues to field community concerns regarding coyote sightings in residential areas. To expedite a proactive response to this concern, the Village continues to partner with an Urban Coyote Specialist with a strong record of positive results in other metro-area communities.

To help the specialist better understand our coyote population and patterns, the community is being asked for their assistance. Residents who observe a coyote in their neighborhood are asked to go to the Scientific Wildlife Management website and report the sighting and condition of the animal.

Residents who have questions about the online reporting process can contact the police department at 847-359-9000.

As coyotes are wild animals, residents should never actively seek out or search for them. Additional information will be provided as we continue to investigate these concerns.
